Over the past week we’ve completed the first phase of commissioning of our new London access network, and have started migrating member connectivity over to the new infrastructure. The lucky first institutions were Stanmore College, Bromley College, and Christ the King Sixth Form College, and there are plenty more to come.
The new network offers greater coverage, greater flexibility, more underlying bandwidth, and an architecture consistent with the rest of Janet, and it looks something like this:
The next few months will see us work through the remaining network commissioning activities, and then enter a busy schedule of migrations as more members and customers transition over to the new London infrastructure and start to reap the benefits.
